Sketch-a-day 060

Finally some art. Unfortunately I have no way to get my other two fine artsy pieces on here yet, as I can't find my camera charger. But I did doodle out this soldier concept today. Today was the hump and from now on things should get progressively easier in my schedule. Maybe.

Very cool. As always, I really enjoy your drawings. Great stuff!

So, in the office today there is much talk of 'What does Mike Puncekar plan to do when he graduates?' What market(s) are you looking to get into? Give us the skinny!

i'm curious, was that stripe digital or paint/ink or something?

Thank guys.

Manuscript: The stripe was just a quick selection in photoshop with some good ol' paint bucket, and a multiply blending change and a drop in opacity.

Glick: I feel weird that my name has come up in a conversation, but good. At this point I really have no idea. Editorial would be great, but I know it's extremely hard to make a living off of, and I'm pretty burnt out on the whole concept art thing just aesthetically. I barely go to conceptart.org anymore just because I'm sick of seeing the same style of painting everywhere. But I'd be a happy camper if I could somehow survive in comics, concept art, or editorial.

Dream goals though... some day have a gallery show, and to put out an illustrated book of short stories.

Nice piece. I really like your marks and how expressive your drawings are. I sound like a doof and a kiss ass but I really mean it and I never feel like anything needs crits.

I couldn't agree more with what you said to Thom. I think me and a lot of my peers feel the same way. I stopped going to CA a long time ago cuz of the same reason. It's really easy to feel pulled in a lot of different directions, but you know, I think no matter what you put your energy into, you are going to do great. :)
