Went streaming again for a bit and to redeem myself from the sketch that prefaced the sea monster I painted up another female adventurer. Although, the further I went the more, zombie apocalypse she got. Still was fun though. Took way too long though. A pretty embarrassing amount of time for such a simple sketch. Ah well, how it goes sometimes. Just wasn't making good decisions as I painted it.

Sketch-a-day 042
Bit of woman practice from reference. Think I've finally settled on some Photoshop brushes. Maybe 2 hours of painting. I don't tend to do this photo stuff all that much, so I may be a bit slow, but I'm pretty happy with this one.

Fable Part 1
In electronic Illustration we had a fables assignment. Before you judge me as a murdering psychopath, let me explain. We had to choose a fable to give two illustrations and work in painter. I was browsing for some russian folktales when I found this Romanian vampire tale. It's a rather bloody and grim tale, but after hearing about everyone's disney-esque choices for subject matter I had to go with. Also... vampires are awesome illustration material. In the story the vampire takes his victims and stacks their heads in the window. I wasn't going to do this, I thought it may be a bit spooky, but my teacher talked me into it. Well, suggested and I jumped at his approval. So I did my best to keep this tasteful. In the story he rips off their lips to make it look like they are smiling, one of the more grotesque details in a rather unspecific tale.
Here's a link to the tale. In the next illustration I'm kind of combining all the elements I like from all three, but I used number two primarily.
Here's a few bonus sketches.

Haircut.
Illustration methods assignment. I like it fair enough, but don't be surprised to see an edit to this post.

{A Girl and a Pyro}
Finally have some sketches here to put up.
The first sketch is one of many but one of the one's I liked. During my sophomore review, the review at CCAD that determines whether you keep on chugging or not, to draw more women. I was also told to draw more environments. I agree with both on probably an exponential level, especially environments. I could probably count how many I've done in my life. So I drew this girl.
The second sketch is just of a pyro, inspired by Team Fortress 2 by quite a bit. Didn't really push myself on this one at all, but he was just too much fun to draw.
Hoping to do some painting really soon, maybe some studies or something to kind of help me climb out of my comfortable little hole I've dug for myself over the years. I've always thought I started to stylize too soon, but I sure haven't done anything about it.
